Still Have Questions?

Common questions about using design ideas, planning your website, customization, ownership, accessibility, hosting, and working with MyWaypoint Digital.

Do I have to choose one design exactly as shown?

No. The Design Catalog is a source of ideas, not a collection of fixed products. You may like the navigation from one example, the content layout from another, and the overall tone of a third. We use those preferences during discovery and shape the final direction around your business, audience, content, goals, and project scope.

Can I combine ideas from several examples?

Yes. Design ideas are meant to be referenced and combined. You may like elements from multiple examples — a header style from one, a layout from another, and a colour approach from a third. We evaluate these preferences during discovery and adapt them into a recommended direction.

What if I do not see a design that fits?

If you don't see a design that matches your industry or vision, we can still help. During discovery, we discuss your business, goals, and requirements. We may recommend a design direction from a related industry or develop a custom approach that fits your needs.

Can the colours and typography be changed?

Yes. Colours and typography are among the most common customizations. We apply your brand colours — or help you choose appropriate ones — before launch. If you're not sure what colours to use, our Palette Pilot™ and Personality Palette™ tools can help you decide.

We also check colour contrast ratios to make sure your chosen palette meets accessibility standards before the site goes live.

Can I use my own photography or imagery?

Yes. All design images are placeholders. We replace them with your own photography, or we can source appropriate stock images for your industry. If you have professional photos, we'll use those. If you don't, we'll discuss options during the discovery call.

Can MyWaypoint Digital help define the design direction?

Yes. During discovery, we discuss your business, audience, content, goals, and requirements. We evaluate your preferences against these actual needs and recommend a direction that fits your project scope. If you're unsure, we can guide you through the process using our Design Lab tools and industry guidance.

Is every design suitable for every business?

No. While most designs can be adapted, some may not align with your industry, audience, or goals. For example, a playful design may not suit a professional services firm, and a minimalist design may not suit a content-rich organization. We help you identify the best fit during discovery.

Can my website include bilingual content?

Yes. We offer full English/French bilingual support for any project. This includes an in-page language toggle, translated content, bilingual navigation, and proper hreflang tags for search engines. Bilingual support is available as an add-on. Ask us about bilingual requirements and scoping.

Can I self-host the completed website?

Yes. You own the files. We can deliver the complete, ready-to-deploy website to you, and you can host it wherever you choose — your own server, a cloud provider, or a third-party host. We'll provide documentation to help your hosting provider get it running.

If you'd prefer us to handle hosting, we offer managed hosting. Learn about managed hosting.

Can the website move to a CMS later?

Yes. Your website is a starting point, not a permanent commitment. If your needs grow beyond your current website, we can migrate your content to a CMS for easier self-management. You own all your content and can take it anywhere.

What accessibility considerations are included?

All our websites are built with WCAG 2.1 AA guidance as the baseline. This includes skip links, semantic HTML, ARIA labels, keyboard-navigable navigation, visible focus indicators, and sufficient colour contrast on the default palette.

We do not guarantee AODA or WCAG 2.1 AA compliance — that depends on the content you add after launch. We build the accessible foundation; maintaining it is a shared responsibility.

You can use our Accessibility Auditor™ to evaluate your colour choices before we begin.

How are updates handled?

If you're on our managed hosting plan, minor content updates (text changes, image swaps, contact information) are included. Larger changes — new pages, new sections, structural changes — are scoped and quoted separately.

If you're self-hosting, you own the files and can make changes yourself or hire any developer to help. We can also provide update support on a per-request basis.

What support is available after launch?

We're available for post-launch support. If you're on managed hosting, support is included. If you're self-hosting, we offer support on a per-request basis. Contact us to discuss your needs.

How is the project timeline determined?

The timeline depends on factors such as content readiness, required functionality, scope of customization, and revision requirements. Typical projects are completed within 2–4 weeks from content collection to launch. We provide a clear timeline during discovery.

What content does the client need to provide?

Yes. You know your business better than we do. We need your text content, logo, and any images you want to use. We can help you structure and refine your content, but the core information needs to come from you.

If you need help writing content, we can discuss copywriting support during the discovery call.

Who owns the finished website?

Yes. You own everything we build — the code, the content, the design customizations. There are no lock-in contracts. You can take your website to any developer or hosting provider at any time.

Where can I see complete website examples?

Yes. Our Featured Projects includes demonstration websites showing how different design directions can be developed into cohesive websites. These are complete, multi-page websites — not mockups.
